Thought in it's purest form is the truth, but we fail to reveal it due to social pressure and trying to fit a mold of society we will never fit. I pray for a day when young brothas think and not just do. We are a dying breed of society that must find ourselves to survive the truth of reality. We will always try to make a way to the promised land, but nothing was truly promised it was but a lie to subdue us till we finally realized as a people that we were screwed from the beginning. We are the lost tribes that never found their way.
We're lost because no one stood up to teach us who we are. Our strongest were killed before time could help produce the greatness they possessed. Education isn't teaching us the knowledge we possess, it's teaching us the law of the land, preparing us for an existence filling juvenile systems and prison populations. Our intelligent don't uplift the lowest among us, they shun them as a disease that is hoped will not affect the minority of educated blacks. We have no community because we destroyed it with selfishness instead of building it with love and compassion.
We lost our way when we stopped caring for our weakest link. We fail to uplift, we only degrade ourselves. Black people what are you doing to yourselves. We destroy ourselves from within. We no longer have an outside enemy, he trained us to destroy ourselves on our own. Like dummies and robots we follow the code that was instilled in us from slavery. Willie Lynch really did a number on the mindset of the Negro in America.
Slavery didn't end it just changed, we are still slaves in the mind, ruled by a voice that isn't truly ours. We fight a fight that isn't ours and still get neglected when it counts. We are the lost tribes that the bible speaks of. We embrace a religion that isn't ours, we're the originals who created the bible, but watched it be skewed by generations of bigots and racist who changed the image of God into their own likeness. We don't know ourselves, we know a figment of imaginary history drilled into the mindset of our young and preached from the pulpits of false witnesses to God in megachurches worldwide.
Quantity never defeated quality, strength is great in numbers, but only if the numbers really matter when it comes to a goal of achieving. Achieving a greatness is a goal of us, but what is truly greatness in an artificial world dominated by looks and material status. These things aren't God like they are but extensions of insecurity we will never get over because we haven't been taught to truly love ourselves. We are worth more than the "things" we possess. We we're once kings and queens of great lands long forgotten by history never taught in the classroom.
If we want to overcome, we must first realize our greatness, stop blaming others for our failures and stop waiting for hand outs that we don't need. We are our own worse enemy but our greatest asset. We preach community and coming together, but at the first sign of trouble we splinter like cheap wood and spread further apart. We need leaders not concerned with self image, but concerned about truly helping us reach the mountain top. False prophets will always preach a good word, but action trumps the words of a player any day. Rise up not because someone told you too, but because you truly want to.
